Internet Research

Collaborate with social studies and computer teachers to allow ample time for research and discussion.  (Collaboration is a must since elementary art teachers only see the children for approximately 45 minutes per week.)

 - Develop a class bookmarking site (i.e. diigo, delicious, etc)
 - Teacher provides links to appropriate search engines
 - Divide class in to research groups to locate information for the assigned military branch:
 - Primary responsibilities
 - Symbol(s)
 - Heroes
 - Students locate sites with required information and complete a web page evaluation for each site.
 - If the site has all of the required qualities the student should bookmark the site.
- Bookmark 1-2 websites.

Note to teacher: pre-teach vocabulary for Web Page evaluation & complete one as a class prior to having students complete individual or group research.
